Kickboxing is a martial art combining boxing and kicking (fighting sport). In 1950, it first appeared in Japan, it has spread throughout the globe. Now it's one of the most famous combat sports.

Japanese kickboxing originated in the late 1950s and since then has had contests. American kickboxing originated in the 1970s and became prominent in September 1974, when the first World Championships were held by the Professional Karate Association (PKA). Kickboxing can historically be regarded a hybrid martial art created by combining components of different traditional styles. Since the 1970s, this strategy has become increasingly common, and since the 1990s, kickboxing has contributed to the creation of mixed martial arts through further hybridization with Brazilian jiu-jitsu ground combat methods and folk wrestling.

Like other sports, the game has a number of rules and regulations to safeguard players ' health and security. To regulate their corresponding kickboxing matches, each country has its own federation. Therefore, the laws may alter slightly from one country to another, but the main laws stay the same.

  • If you play a full contact game. To win, either you have to knock your opponent out entirely or you have to hurt him so badly that he can no longer play.
  • However, you have to earn more points than your adversary if you play a light contact game. Only if you have more legal strikes than your adversary can this be feasible.
  • Semi contact matches are comparable to matches for light contact. That implies that by hitting the opponent with legal strokes you have to score points. Points range from 1 to 3.
  • At the end of the season, the player with highest points is proclaimed the winner
Because this is a physical game, players are compelled to wear protective gear such as head guards, shin and foot guards, mouth guards, groin guards, etc.
  • If the player is a woman, she will also have to wear chest protection.
  • Just before the start of the match, the weight of all players is recorded to ensure that the governing organization has prescribed health and weight standards.
  • The match timing relies on the sort of match. For instance, for semi-and light contact type games, 3 rounds are performed every 2 minutes.
  • Full contact matches also have the same timetable for timing, but each round has a 1 minute duration.
